Pop Up Sump Indicators are an easy way to tell which trees/palms are bieng overwatered.
If the rod is elevated off the cap then there is water pooling at the bottom of the trees/palms rootball. Standing water can kill otherwise healthy roots and promote disease so its important that it is corrected.
What do I do if I see the orange rod???
You can either:
Wait for the standing water to percolate.
Or if water does not percolate within 48 hours.
Pump excess water with a sump pump.
In either option you need to wait until standing water is gone before you apply you water again.
You will need to adjust your watering schedule (less water or less time) to prevent more standing water in the future.
